The Courses

Our training programmes cover several areas and are designed to tackle both theory and practice. Ranging from short to longer and more advanced courses, individually focusing on specific topics and areas.

The programme focuses on the theory and practical skills required for dialysis-related therapy and contemporary nursing.

Name:

Acute Kidney Injury

Date:

Duration:

6th – 9th of March 2022    &        20th – 23rd of November 2022

5 days

Accreditation:

European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/ European Renal Care Association (EDTNA)

Objectives:

provide the participants with basic & advanced concepts of CRRT that will impact clinical practices in AKI.

Outcome:

Certification in AKI with 15 learning credit hours (CME)

Description:

The CRRT course offers nurses the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills to carry advanced CRRT procedures.

The course begins with an initial evaluation of the staff’s knowledge after sending a pre-reading materials to the nurses couple of weeks before the program starts.

Afterwards, the course integrates the whole patient’s journey starting from the kidney’s anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, causes of acute kidney injury and failure to the ESRD data-global view and a detailed oriented explanation of renal replacement therapies along with their principles (CVVHDF, CVVD & CVVH).

The course then delivers a comprehensive hands-on training on the CRRT multiFiltrate device along with its consumables of needed of filters, bloodlines, solutions and the corresponding needed vascular access and anticoagulation in RRT. The anticoagulation part will include a theoretical background on Calcium-Citrate (Ci-Ca) therapy. We will then learn the principles of intradialytic complications, how to manage them as well as fluid management. At the end, we will have a brief introduction about MPS-Membrane Plasma Separation.

The training will take place by the following strategies: presentations, open discussions, simulation, teamwork, role playing, and group exercises.

By the end of the course, a MCQ exam will take place for certification completion and delivery.

Passing this course successfully will grant you all the knowledge and hands-on practice you need to deal with a CRRT patient from start to finish.

Accreditation:

European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/ European Renal Care Association (EDTNA)

Objectives:

provide the participants with basic & advanced concepts of HD therapy that will impact clinical practices in HD units.

Outcome:

Certification in HD with 15 learning credit hours (CME)

Description:

The HD course offers nurses a comprehensive ongoing professional development to maintain continual HD learning.

The course begins with an initial evaluation of the staff’s knowledge after sending a pre-reading materials to the nurses couple of weeks before the program starts.

Afterwards, the course integrates a series of lectures focusing on the whole dialysis journey from the anatomy/physiology of kidney, pathophysiology of renal failure, physico-chemical principles and ESRD data to every single step of the dialysis. This includes renal replacement therapies, principles of HDF, water used in dialysis, membranes, fluids, concentrates, machines, vascular access/assessment, adequacy/quality assurance, prescription/patient monitoring/education, HD complications/management/nutrition, fluid management/hygiene, patient education/pre-dialysis and  practical hands-on.

The training will take place by the following strategies: presentations, open discussions, simulation, teamwork, role playing, and group exercises.

By the end of the course, a MCQ exam will take place for certification completion and delivery.

Passing this course successfully will grant you all the knowledge and hands-on practice you need to deal with a HD patient from start to finish.
